The Radiology Team
A radiologist is a veterinarian who has undergone extensive clinical training (usually 3-4 years) in a university hospital environment as a clinical assistant or resident under the guidance of experienced academic radiologists.
This training covers all species, including exotic and bird species, and all aspects of diagnostic imaging. This includes radiology, diagnostic ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography and nuclear medicine.
On completion of the qualifying examinations the radiologist is registered as a specialist with the South African Veterinary Council and may also become a board-certified diplomat in other countries and as such may also practice in those countries.

Dr Christelle le Roux
Christelle received her BVSc veterinary degree from Onderstepoort (University of Pretoria) in 2006 and then spent 6 years in small animal private practice in Pretoria. She returned to Onderstepoort to complete a residency in diagnostic imaging. She received her MMedVet (Diag Im) degree in 2016 and became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (DipECVDI) in February 2018.
She joined IDEXX Telemedicine Consultants as a part-time contractor in July 2017 and spent 3 years as Senior Lecturer and Section Head of Diagnostic Imaging, in the Department on Companion Animal Clinical Studies, University of Pretoria.
She owns her own teleradiology company, and has a passion for teaching.
Christelle is a partner and director in Pretoria Pet MRI.

Internal Medicine Specialist
Dr Ryan Friedlein
Ryan received his BVSc veterinary degree from the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort in 2009. He subsequently spent 2 years in small animal private practise before enrolling in the small animal medicine residency through Onderstepoort and obtained his honours in 2013 and MMedVet (medicine) in 2017.
Ryan has worked as a medicine physician in small animal specialist referral hospitals in both Johannesburg and Pretoria. He has also opened a mobile medicine and imaging consultancy service since 2021.
His veterinary passions are oncology and diagnostic imaging.
Ryan is a partner and director in Pretoria Pet MRI.

Sr Yolanda Rachmann
Yolanda received her Dip Vet in 2011 and has years of experience in private practice, in companion animals including exotic species. She has a passion for diagnostic imaging and has several years’ experience in assisting with veterinary MRI and CT imaging, making her the ideal addition to the Pretoria Pet MRI team! She also owns her own small grooming company for cats. Yolanda has several hobbies, including cycling, hiking, trail running, playing piano, and long bike trips.
She looks forward to working with your practice and your patients; you are in very capable hands.
